Also exhibited will be work by photographer Tori Gagne of Equus Contemporary Photographs, whose photos aim to reveal unique equine imagery conveying the power, motion and beauty of horses in the wild around the world.

On view through Thursday, Jan. 28, is Gagne’s series, “Moonlit Dance,” which shows horses in a surreal dream world. Gagne will be in attendance for the Gallery Walk on Friday, Dec. 29, from 5-8:30 p.m.

The 10th Pollux Awards

This anniversary edition has had entries from 57 countries. 357 photographers have submitted 4225 images that were juried by Julio Hirsch-Hardy, director of the Gala Awards and the Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography.

My work will be displayed April of 2018 in Barcelona at the Galleria Valid Foto. Another showing will be held in November in Prague or Barcelona for the 5th Biennial

Powerful, beautiful, and symbolic, horses have been a popular subject since the very beginnings of art. We invited artists to share their own equine imagery and their inspiration.

My goals are to work with interior design firms, businesses and galleries and to focus on getting my photographs introduced internationally. I have recently been featured on the Feature Shoot Blog, shortlisted on the Communication Arts photography competition and have a solo show this fall at Lipton Fine Arts in Ketchum, Idaho.

Of her series Moonlit Dance, the artist writes: “The horse embodies the idea of wildness, freedom, wisdom, power protection and more. Humans have evolved side by side with the horse and forged a very unique relationship. I was inspired to create this series to show horses in a more abstract way embodying the ideas mentioned above. These images were taken at Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in California”. 

One way I sort through images when returning from a shoot or trip is to initially trash all of the duds and do some initial flagging of images I want to work on in the future using Lightroom. I tend to let some of my images sit for months. I feel I have a lot more objectivity and fresh eyes when I come back to them. I often find something in an image the second time around that had not seen before or I decide to post process it in a new way. Here are a few from the vault!
