Spring news
Where I live spring takes a long time to show up. Minnesota had an enormous amount of snow this year and our spring is a tad later than other years. Leaves and spring ephemerals have just emerged, the air smells like Florida and we heartily welcome the humidity and warmth! Wherever you are, I hope you are enjoying a happy spring!
In March I participated in YJ Contemporary Gallery’s (Rhode Island) commemoration of Women’s History Month with ‘Women Behind the Lens III’ that honored and celebrated the outstanding photographic accomplishments of women. This remarkable collection featured a diverse selection of women across North America, each with a distinctive photographic style and genre. Through these stunning and powerful images, viewers experienced a dynamic exhibition that was serene, exciting, visually captivating, and intellectually stimulating.
“Into the Mystic’ above was part of the YJ Contemporary show and inspired by the imperiled wild horse population and my affinity for the natural world through my previous career in garden design. Using original images of wild horses, the natural world, in camera movement, multiple exposures and digital composite techniques I created impressionistic photographs celebrating the unique, delicate and imperiled beauty of the natural world. This and others are not on my website, framed 24 x 36 prints are available at YJ Contemporary.
I am excited to announce a new representation at Sorelle Gallery in Westport, Connecticut. I want to thank the owner, Sandy Pelletier, for offering a new venue for my art and connecting me to new art lovers and collectors. I am grateful for the new doors that open when others close!
